Finding out what exactly sets them apart from other agents in their own words is also a good idea. One important area to understand is what their network of professional contacts is like.
Finding someone who can clearly and concisely explain how the real estate selling process works and what the different types of brokerage relationships are is very important. Ask about Dual Agency. This is when the selling agent is also the buyers agent. Are you comfortable with this?
I would also encourage you to consider a realtor which is a licensed person who follows a professional code of ethics and is a member of the National Association of Realtors.
